Maps

No battle was ever won according to plan.
No battle was ever won without a plan.
My friend Ed is moving back to Virginia tomorrow. He's driving, with his cat. He showed me a crisp new big fold-out map of the United States, with his route highlighted in yellow across all the northern states.

I felt a sharp stab, looking at that map. I want a map. Only mine isn't in space, it's in time. The same way he knows that after Montana comes North Dakota, I want to know what phase I'm in, what one is next.

I've gotten pretty good at this the last couple years.

My unconscious says we're just leaving Idaho.

Oh -- I get it. To my unconscious, "Idaho" sounds like "IDon'tKnow." And Wyoming = WhyYouMean. So I'm leaving IDon'tKnow, heading for WhyYouMean (aka, your purpose in life). My unconscious cracks me up. I showed it the map, had it draw the line.

I tell you, you've really got a book to write! I've never come across anyone with such a unique, vivid way of accessing their unconscious. I could do with that map myself!

As I said already - but the comment doesn't seem to have come through - you've definitely got a book here Rachel! I've never read such a novel way of accessing your subconscious. Keep on inspiring us!
